Horse Riding

If you decide to choose horse riding as a chosen subject, you will obtain the competanse and solid experience of a seasoned rider, regardless of your background.
Our goal is to achieve a harmonious learning session that will suit your level of experience and encourage your development as a rider.
You will have nine hours a week to practise your riding and a further three hours set aside for theory work. Pasvik folkhoyskole has it's own stable's and provides their own horses. You will be actively required to work the stable one day of the week which will be rotated amongst you. During the schoolyear we will have an evening of entertainment for the rest of the school. What we choose to do, is entirely your choise!
Elements of the course:
-safety and confidence with the horse
-learning the horses behaviour and demeanour
-knowing the stables
-learning how to feed the horses correctly
-shoe/hoof repair and care
-handicap riding
-vetinary work
-competition rules and riding
-riding instruction, jumping, dressage and how to train the horse
-riding the horses
-the growth and teaching of the young horses
-exhibiting the horses and inspecting -first aid( both human and equine)
-how to see if the horse is sick or injured
